Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. At the age of five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. At the age of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dancing. When she was ten, she was performing and taking the lead in various Stagecoach productions and school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre instructor. After eight consistent auditions director David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut film appearance came as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was also the most successful film of 2001. Opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. The film was praised by critics and the performance of three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's performance "amazing". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for an Feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
